Please can someone help shed some light on the anenamy life cycle. I've googled and yahooed to no avail. I've had a fairly large healthy white blue tipped anenamy for about week now and about an hour ago after I turned off the lights, he began retracting his tentacles.

It's breaking my heart seeing him this way. What is happening? He is all shrivelled up and in a matter of minutes went from looking like penne to spaggetti. He also excreted some really black stuff that the Clowns helped him remove. He now looks like a little tree mushroom....really really heart wrenching to watch!!!

Please can someone help me understand what's happening to him...please!

:cry::cry::cry:

lol...in desparation I searched on both Anemone and Anenamy and ironically ended up at this website on the latter. I have to admit, this site has been the most useful.

Oddly he seems to be recovering...slowly though but at least it's progress.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and push my luck a bit...do you perhaps know if switching off the lights in the tank at night effect anything?

yup everything is fine they shrivel up at night
