Hey all,

I have a 55 gallon with a 14 - black skirt tetra school and was wondering if I could add around 4-5 angel fish. Would these be able to cohab?
I know the black skirts will fin nip with each other and am concerned with this sort of behavior directed towards the angel fish..
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You could try it. It might be a bit tight if they all make it to adulthood. I've got a pair of adult angels, 2 Siamese algae eaters, some zebra danios and a young little keyhole cichlid in my 55. It's an active tank. The angels and SAEs are big. All but the ZDs faceplant the glass anytime they see me.

The Black Skirts will be fine with Angel's but like stated FreshyFresh FreshyFresh will be tight.

Had these guys in with an angelfish for around 3 to 4 days .. Noticed the angels fins disappearing, and saw group of black skirts nip fins at him. later an angel fish he was constantly in the corner to keep from being harassed. again i put all these guys to a fancy gold fish tank( 2 redcaps, 2 bubble eyes,1 black moor) next morning my black moor tail fin scattered . But they are good to guppy ,platy, molly i dont see any issue.

I've had Black Skirts with different species of fish and never had that issue but in the video they were behaving like mini Pirahna.

I appreciate all the responses, thank you all!

I know they would be cramped if i was keeping The cohab together for life... That is why the angels would only be in the tank for 1 year maximum with the black skirt tetras, then they would be transferred to a 75 gallon as a species only tank.
I was just wondering if they would be able to make it that long.. Their fins are pretty enticing..
