angel fish breeding? anyone? help? anyone?

Peeps,
Anyone breed Angel fish? Im sure some do so maybe you can help.. i have a 55gallon with 4 large angels... i have three clay pots in the tank.. is there anything else i should be doing? How about temperature.. its at 80 right now...should i up it? any info please let me know..

80 degrees is fine. 82 is even better but not necessary. Feed at least twice a day. You may want to separate the pair that forms after the first spawn to a 20 or 29 gallon tank. They tend to eat the eggs in a tank when other fish are present. Once they spawn they will spawn again every 6 to 10 days with regularity. Good Luck.

If they are stupid(like mine) they will eat them when they become wigglers until they get the idea. I had to siphon off a group to save them because they got the bright idea that with everything else in the tank, the filter tube directly above the intake was the best place to lay eggs. If you do this be prepared for a viscious attack from both parents as they protect the fry. Doesn't do any damage but it's surprising the first time.
