I recently purchased 2 angels about 2 months ago and now they are breeding and I have no clue on what to do.:confused: I just noticed them today and I am wondering if I should get another tank and move the angels to that one with the plant that the eggs or on or what? Any advice would be AMAZING.
Thanks in advance
-Dave

Sorry for the bad camera phone picture.

depends. Do you want hundreds of baby angelfish? do you have room to raise even 40 or 50 sub - adult angelfish? (probably 150 gallons of water minimum)

I would recommend you just leave the eggs with the parents in the tank they are in now. depending on their tankmates, some may survive even in a community setting. it is much more interesting to watch w/ tankmates, IMO

good luck

It it's their first time, they will most likely eat the eggs anyways. But yeah like Badis said, let it run out in the main tank, dont let it stress you out.

Ya the only thing I did was get a tank divider and i am just letting them do what they want. Also all of the eggs have turned white today. I am guessing that those are all of the fertilized eggs?

White is dead, I think.

Yup, white is dead. When they are fertile, they're clear and in a couple days, you'll see their tails wiggling.

hello,

congrats!!!.I have 9 pairs myself and I get about 2 spawns every 10 days, today my platinum pair laid about 600 eggs (this is their 5 spawn, so they parent raise them). anyways, if this is their first spawn you can bet on them being eaten, unless you pull them. If you do this, make sure you buy some fungus medication for the eggs, and if any of them turn white, remove the white eggs immediately ( an eyedropper will work). healthy eggs are clear, and unfertilized are white). it normally takes 3 days for them to start moving, you will see tails ( they are called wigglers in that stage), and in another few days after they have consumed their egg sacs, they will become free swimming, this is when you can feed them their first meal, bbs, or mine love liquid fry food. If I were you, i would just let the parents learn not to eat them, and this normally takes a few spawns. ( some pairs may never learn not to eat their babies) If the angels are in their breeding cycle, you should continue to get spawns every 10-15 days for a few months, then they will take a month or so off, and then start back again. do not worry, you will have more babies than you can handle!!!
