how many angel fish could I put in a 55 gallon, and do angel juvies need
a bare bottom just like juvie discus. temp needs to be 76-86 right?
what does the ph need to be 7.0 and soft? they need beef heart, blood worms, and flakes right? could I also put pool filter sand in the 55 as substrate? with some fake plants, and driftwood. the 55 right is set up and cycled with some Cory catfish in it. it's bare bottom.

anything else I need to know I read the angel fish sticky but I thought i would ask just to make sure.

Thankfully, angels aren't as sensitive as discus so you can keep juvenile angels in decorated setups just fine. Maintain the temperature to at least 80-84 degrees. For a 55g, I'd stick to at least 6 angels only. Don't exceed the number. Plan your backup tanks once they begin to pair off as they reach 7-8 months of age.

pH does not matter. They can adapt quite well to various water conditions. Your foods need to be varied further. Those are very insufficient. The angels tend not to fuss over anything and can readily take even some soft plants. If possible, you could try a gel food recipe where you combine some pellets, veggies, beefheart, bloodworms and calcium tablets. This will cover all the requirements of the angels.

Stick to live plants instead of fake ones. I encourage the use of live plants as it helps promote good water quality although it doesn't mean you can rely on them totally instead of doing water changes at least twice a week. Pool sand filter is fine.

cool, so I basicly just need to add pool filter sand live plants and change the water 2 times a week. how are angels measured. just body or mouth to end of tail?

Snout to caudal peduncle.

cool, um so if someone says they have 4 inch angels. I guess there body
would be the size of a tennis ball?

They sometimes included the caudal fin instead of the caudal peduncle.

Which one is it? At least 6 or don't exceed what number?

I think he was saying, I would need at least 6 adults in a 55G and don't put more then 6 in a 55G.

At least 6 means a minimum of 6. But don't put more than 6 means at most or maximum of 6! So which one is it??????????????????????????

Thanks for clarifying that;)
