Angelfish are cichlids, too, you know.
What size tank are you talking about? Tank size alone determines the answer. Except for the part about the Cray. You can't keep Crays with fish unless you don't mind the fish turning up as Cray Lunch eventually.

20 gal yeah i know 'its too small and thats irresponsible' but at the same time im upgrading at the end of the month to a 65-ish gal and any way theres a 65 gal in the other room but its my dads and hes trying to pair a set of 8 juvie oscars one of which KILLED a 4" plec in 9 hours from repetitive ramming any way im still open for ideas
:popcorn:p.s. dont forget discus are cichlids lol yeah i know :D

The end of the month? That's only 2 wks so just wait until then. You've got a Jaguar and 3 Tinfoil Barbs in a 20 g tank and you're already "not happy" with them. That's a red flag that you should just sit back and wait until you get the 65 g (supposedly in 2 wks) before you make any decisions. Sorry, but fish commitments aren't just until you get bored.

re-home the jags and barbs and wait until the new tank is cycled then one ready it is a good time to think of options

i actually think theyre great fish but in the long run its going to be difficult to keep 3 maxed out tinfoils and an agressive jag and im learning if i want to keep said fish but i think i like community tanks with oddballs but to be honest i love everything thats mean and usually grows more than 2 foot and trying to find fish that a.look cool b.grow to a descent size c.get on with everything is really difficult :( but for every fish i dont like and hand back is a fish that ill try avoid later in life and im trying out different types and learning what gets on and i kind of hate the fact i do this but trying to have a stock that are awesome and peaceful is hard the point is stop moaning and give a noob some good advice like what oddball stock does well together

I understand that. But you've got a 20 g tank and you seem to want 'big mean fish' that get along. That won't happen in a 20 g tank or even a 65 g tank.

sorry im not that good at typing i meant i like the big mean fish that dont get along like green terrors, fire eels, not huge like pacu but fish that get a considerable size but what i mean was what smaller oddballs get on? like stuff that stays relatively near 1 foot lol i fail at saying what i mean :screwy: thanks for not getting annoyed and just leaving its hard to find they cool looking fish that stay a foot long thats why i changed my plans

I have 4 tinfoils in a 55 gallon and it's too small for them to really swim around. They are four years old and 9-10 inches long, and healthy. But as soon as I can get a bigger tank for them, I will. They can't swim around like they should be able too, IMO.
I would move your fish to your 65 gallon when it's ready, then get some small fish, under 4" or so, for your 20 gallon. I don't have any small fish so I don't know what to recommend. I do have two planted 10g that are a lot of fun and can 'look awesome'. You could do a lot with a 20g low-tech planted with a couple cool oddball fish. Try that.
