is it hard to breed angel fish?

No. They will simply pair off, pick a spawning site and lay eggs. It takes a few trials before they learn they need to defend their eggs and fry. There are cases wherein two females pair off so the eggs are not viable. Just something to watch out for.

they are normally pretty easy, although not as good parents as some other new world cichlids

they are easy. just a matter of having a good sized tank for the initial small group to get a pair from.

Easy to spawn although the first attempt might fail. Angels need to practice!
