Angel fry

Will parents keep their fry from coming near filter intake tubes? A pair of Koi Angel laid eggs and the fry just hatched on a huge piece of driftwood. They’re in a community tank with 5 other Angels. I’m going away for a few days so I won’t be able to take care of the fry. Will the parents guard them from intake tubes and other adult Angels?

Ok. One more thing I won’t be around when the fry become free swimming. Will they feed off of algae or something else in the tank. Do Angel fry feed off of the parents side like Discus?

Some Cichlid fry do eat off the parents slime coat Tbh don't know if Angelfish fry do but its a plus to have algae in the aquarium. The female will probably guide them to that area to graze.

feed flakes and crush them really tiny or buy fry food its like 3$ most pet stores have it feeds them wen they are fry

Just put sponges on filter intakes. Parents got pissed when I did this. Kind of ignoring fry now.

How are they acting now? When you feed the parents crush up some flake food or pellet.

They moved fry to a plastic leaf

i will use a divider to separate the fry and its family with the other angels just to play safe
