Angel Group Size

Hi All,

What is the minimum recommended size of an Angel group in order to spread aggression?

I have seen it suggested that one should have 5 and 8 has also been mentioned.

I would say 5 is a good number.

they say 1 or a pair or groups of 5+. but in the end they will still be aggressive to each other when they pair off.

I had 5 that did not work for me, they picked on my clown so i got a large male, and they still pick on each other but it is much more spread out, and only if the other 4 go into the territory of my current pair.

I would get 6 very young ones, then when two pair off, either separate them with a divider, or get rid of the others. You can see how I separated mine in my Planted Angelfish Tank thread.

^ I always hear 6 is the magic number.
I got 4 around dime size (smaller tank), and they are about 2" tall now, still no problems. Once they pair off I'm planning on trading two back to the LFS, unless I actually get something much larger than their 29.
