do angels have stunted growth like discus do? Should they be kept in a bare bottom tank with daily water changes like discus? just wondering if they are as sensitive.

not in my exerience, ive seen people get them to full size in a ten gallon. working at a lfs you see some cruel things. the stunting often only seems to affect the fins.

Angels do get stunted if not properly feed and cared for , they do not stunt as easily as discus do . We would recommend that you care for the Angels like you would for your Discus. water changes are very important if you are feeding your fry the amount of food needed to grow healthy Angels. we have found that Angels are more tolerant of spikes in your water parameters and will still thrive in less than ideal conditions for a period of time , you also run a risk of an outbreak if the fish become too stressed.

Bare bottom tanks are easier to take care of than ones with substrates since you can easily see the waste and vac it out with out much effort , maintenance is much easier with BB tanks all around.
