i have 5 angles in my 55 that are just about 2in what would be good tank mates with them i got $20 gift card for my lfs so i was wondering what i should get?
that wont end up in their belly's thankx

Go with a school of harlequin rasboras or rummynose tetras

Eventually something is going to end up dead in that tank. When the angels are larger, and pair off, in around 6 months, they become very aggressive. Not many things will be safe from them. You can try larger fish, but then you may run into many other problems.

How about more Angels? There's so many varieties of Angels you may stock your tank with many of them with none of them the same.

i thought 6 would be the max limit i could put in a 55g long

6 adult angels is the max, but as juvies you could have up to 12 in there without too much incident. When they get larger, and start to pair, then sell the others off to LFS.

just get a nice variety of pleco
Not a good idea. When they pair, even plecos are not safe. Also, plecos if not fed properly will go after angels very quickly, as they are a big target.

ok i'll go get more angles how will i know when they pair off my 5 swim like their in a school i'd love to get some plecos but my lfs charges 30-60$ for anything that isent a common or a rubber nose

You'll know they paired off when they claim half the tank, and the rest of the angels are afraid to go onto that side.
