I was at my local fish store today when I stumbled upon some interesting looking fish. The sign said angel x ram and the owner said someone brought them in earlier today. Is this cross even possible? And if not then what are these? I snapped a couple cell pics sorry about the quality it was the best I could do.

Yep Balloon bolivian rams. a lfs in my area regularly carries balloon German Blue and Electric Blue rams. The German Blue balloons look kind of nice, but you have to know they wont survive long. Just a deformity that's line bred

Those are not Bolivian rams BTW. Gold rams which is the same as German blue and electric blue different color variant. IMO those ones look very ugly

I need to spark up my fish life

"Angel Ram" usually refers to long-finned rams because their fins are similar in appearance to Pterophyllum fins. Most are now bred with balloon rams to give you Balloon Angel Rams.

IMO, line breeding for body deformities is ridiculous. Short-bodied fish, balloon fish, "bulldog" discus, etc. Color morphs don't seem to affect the day to day behaviors and well-being of a fish, but I'd imagine with the shortened spines of short-bodied fish and the fact that all their organs are smooshed into a smaller than normal body, it will have some affect on their longevity and health. Even super veil angels or oscars can have their swimming impeded by the ridiculous finnage. I'm not a fan. /rant
