After a lot of thought I wanted to know if they're are any fish like Angel fish that come from central America and would mix with thothorichthys, they would be in a 125. My original plans for the tank was a SA tank but being as my water is hard water i didn't want to mess around with lowering the ph so I decided to go for CA cichlids as they like hard water. I still really want angels and wanted to know if there were CA alternatives, could angels and thorichthys live in the same tank

Pretty much all the ca cichlids come under the heroine clade, they share one common ancestor, no angel alternative.
Lots of livebeares eg swordtails, mollies, platys, Belonesox belizanus etc, Astyanax tetra spp,
Some s/a fish adapt fine to harder water.
I would be inclined to add lots of wood, leaf litter and peat moss to your Filtration.
Some species will fair poorly so a little research may be required.
Tank bred angels should adapt ok.
Some s/a fish will live in hard water but may not be able to breed as the eggs won't be fertilised in hard water.
