I have(or my mom) has a pair of angels that seems to getting ready to breed, the females egg tube is sticking out and she is FAT and her and the male keep on picking on the other fish, its been like that since yesterday. The male is what I think is a marble and I think the female is a smokey veil. what kinds of angels could I potentially get out of this pairing?
What size/age could I separate the fry from the parents?
How long till it takes to get to dime size? quarter size?
How much could I sell them for?
Any other useful info?

The fry will be a combination of both and who knows what else. Angels are so inbred that it is hard to know exactly what you will get. As for growing them out for sale, that all really depends. How big is the tank? What are you going to grow them out in? What are you planning on feeding? How often are you going to do water changes? As for selling them at dime size, many shops will give you .50¢ and at quarter or half dollar, maybe $1. The store will also look for ammonia burnt fins, bad gill plates and anything else that might be wrong with them.

I plan on putting them in a 38 gallon run on a fluval 304.

NLS cichlid formula 1mm, I can crush it smaller if needed.

Whats a WC schedule would you'd recommend?

I really don't want to sell them to my LPS, because of the conditions he keeps them in...
I was thinking of craigslist.

A single 38 gallon with a 304 won't be very helpful. Angels can have big spawns and can easily fill a 38 with tons of fry. The 304 will also need a sponge over the intake to keep the fry from getting sucked up. I would start hatching some baby brine to feed them instead of the NLS. As for water changes, I would do a minimum of 25% 3 or 4 times a day if it is a large spawn. I haven't bred angels in 15 years so I could be wrong.

Alright. if the number is too overwhelming I can always cull. I can put a sponge over the intake.
25% 3 - 4 times a day! Never heard of needing to do that much before. I thought it might be like 25% a day at most.

When I raised angels, i did about 50% daily for nearly hatched fry. then I got lazy when they were bigger. didn't seem to be a problem, but probably would have grown faster if I had continued. Do not fed until free swimming, Then fed boiled yolk twice daily.

Good luck

I have successfully bred 160 fry in a bare bottom 20 long with doing 25% water changes every 2 days and had no issues. Tank was a bit over filtered but params were always good and the fry grew up nicely. I did clean the tank every day, ensuring nothing built up on the bottom. But if you are going to breed to sell, be sure to check around at your LFS's, as I actually had issues with finding someone to take mine, and I tried every store within 20 miles of my house. One took about 30 of them, the rest I gave away to freinds and then kept a few. You definitly won't know what you get with angels, have to wait till they get a bigger to tell.
