Currently I have five Angels, but I believe them to all be female. About half of them have lain eggs, but they weren't fertilized. If I bought a male to fertilize the eggs, would the angelfish harm or kill themselves trying to defend them. I currently have a 5" Blood Parrot, and I was looking into a Chocolate Cichlid. My only worries would be with those fish. Every other fish should be fine around them.

The angelfish wouldn't kill themselves trying to defend. A 5" parrot and a chocolate cichlid might make it hard for them to defend (plus the other 4 angels)... depending on how large the tank is and what type of structures you have in place.

Additionally, if you have a busy tank, with a lot of fast fish (like barbs).... the parents would have a really tough time defending the free swimmers.

Nice sized tank! Space won't be an issue. The barbs will be an issue for the fry.

Send us a pic of the tank?

Can't send a pic now. I bought an Angelfish that developed ich which infected the rest of the tank within 12 hours. I was able to treat it in time, but I lost all of my Cories, Barbs, an Angel, and my Parrot. The ich basically killed all of my small fish, so I was looking into restocking it with fish like Bichirs, Chocolates, Pearseis, etc... (Once I fully treated the ich)

Here are some pictures of the tank before ich (excuse the aquascaping, it was my first time with more than five plants). All of the smaller fish died off (Cories, Barbs, Guppies, etc...) 20160202_075517.jpg 20160206_162815.jpg 1456278753612.jpg 1455574602089.jpg 20160215_171711.jpg 20160206_185343.jpg 1455575115118.jpg
