Well, I haven't been on here in a while, but wanted to reach out to you guys to help me try to solve a mystery.
I set up (well re-set up after it leaked) my 150 back around the beginning of the year. At the time I set it up, I transferred gravel from an existing tank, along with driftwood. I began planting the tank with swords, tiger lilys, onions and some other plants. Things were going well for the fish (Bolivian Rams, Corys, Raphaels, Flash Pleco, and some others).
Fast forward several months, and the tanks is doing great. Nitrites at zero, Nitrates consistantly under 20ppm. Since the plants have some height to them now, and I wanted some mid to upper level swimmers since it is a tall tank and everyone currently hangs out on the bottom, i went with Angelfish. I picked up 8 that were about the size of a quarter, maybe slightly larger.
They all started out good, no changes in the water params. All were eagerly eating, grouped together. They divided up in a couple of groups, and were harder to keep track of in the tangle of plants, but they still all seemed fine for the first couple of days. Then I noticed that they seemed like one or two was missing. The next day, only one came out to feed, and the day after that there were none. Out of 8 angelfish, all had disappeared within 5 days. There were no signs of illness. All the other tank fish are fine, even the oto cats.
I've been monitoring the tank for a week now, and there have been no spikes in any of the params. Any suggestions? Should I go with larger angels and give it another try? It just seems weird that they would disappear. They could not jump out, and there is nothing large enough to eat them, but there are plenty of scavengers to clean them up if they did die.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

That is my thought as well. Not sure what I'll do now though. Finding larger Angelfish isn't exactly easy around here. I may have to order them (someplace with a guarantee).

Look harder, they may still be in the tank playing hide and seek with you. I've had angels go missing and then find them in a nearby tank.

Anything else missing around your house?

It there is any space over a millimeter wide, those angels can, and WILL, jump out. I have caught my big male breeder at least 7 times out of his tank, and have lost a few fry due to them jumping over night. Just for the sake of clarity, check your floors again!
