So something sad happened today. I noticed that one of my striped p.scalare showed an extended papilla. She was also pecking at Java fern leaves so I assumed I had a spawning pair. I was looking for the male, but the other angels wasn't really accompening her and no other angels had extended papilla. Later I noticed that she was doing practice runs on the leaves and very aggresive towards two of the other angels.

(I have 4 angels; 3 striped and 1 golden. 2 of the striped are about the same size and the golden a little bit bigger and the remaining striped the largest.)

The only one she wasn't aggressive towards was the largest striped. Later on she started laying eggs, but none of the other angels fertilized them.
She started fanning the eggs and chasing away other fish aggressively, except of course the largest angel.
She was kinda staying close to him, probably to try and get him/her to fertilize the eggs.
Then the largest angel started biting her sides and she didn't swim away or bite back, so then I separated him/her to a holding net since I noticed some of her scales came off.

Has any of you ever experienced any behavior like this ?

Oh and by the way it was the first spawning from the group.

That was too much agression from the male, shouldn't be that much if they paired up. Other then that angelfish are known to make trials before real breeding by acting out the behaviour of laying eggs and fertilizing. But also shouldn't actually lay eggs unless they pair up, so it is a bit weird behaviour. Anyways if it's the first time it's common that they make mistakes. Hell I had 2 males pair up and twice with different males, doing trials. They'll get there eventually. try putting the female back in with a divider to protect her for a while and pair up safelly. good luck
