Long story short. I went to the LFS today to pick up a Jave fern and I stumbled across this. An adult golden marble angel! This is huge, he had it in a special tank by itself cause it kept getting picked on in the tank's he was putting it in plus, it came in with tattered up fin's from the owner I guess. So he was gonna save it for the display tank he's currently redoing. He's knows I have an angel exclusive tank so he showed it to me, said he would sell it to me. If it doesn't work out I will take it back to him. So I'm hoping my other 3 angel's will accept it. It is very reclusive and scared and want's to be by itself right now and very skittish of the other fish. So with some TLC from me I'm hoping it will recover. Here's a few pic's, the pic's don't do it justice for it's true size. So I would like to possibily pair it with my proven golden veil female. Just not sure on the sex.

Diffacult to say it's a little beat up give it a month or so to settle in with good food and water. It may start to show signs of which sex it might be. Other than watching them breed it's diffacult to sex them but older adult males usually get a pronounaced hump and are distinguishable from females but not always. I've been fooled a few times and have been keeping angels for years. Nice looking fish though should devlope nicely with good care.

You might see some aggression(chasing & bullying during feeding) for the first week or two. Angels are cichlids and have a pecking order. Once the new fish has his place established, things should calm down. Nice pick up!

I've noticed today that it's exploring more in the tank. I'll keep up with my 2 to 3 water changes a week so I can get it's fin's healed.

No their kind of keeping their distance. I think I have 3 females now. I know 2 are proven cause they've laid eggs in the past.

Each new angel i got was bullied for about a week until they are slotted into the pecking order , as for sex someone on here should know if it is really big and has no lump on the forehead i would lean toward female but i am no expert .

Update on my marble angel. It is a male cause I had to remove my other smaller male in the tank due to the larger trying to kill it. It gets along great with my 2 golden females. I did a 7 day treatment of melafix for the angels fins and it worked great, can't say that for my live plants though. It's fins are just about all healed now. It's definitely one to look at, very nice coloring.
