was going to set up my 4' 90g CA tank as an angelfish tank.

My tank set up is sand, cobblestones and driftwood. Was hoping to maybe avoid doing a planted tank but suggestions welcome.

I was thinking about adding some tankmates? any suggestions

I like dwarf cichlids. Will keep my pleco from C/A tank setup. What would be a good schooling fish that could work?

I don't think silver dollars are the best bet as they could become nippy. If you are looking at tank mates for your angels I would look at:
Lemon tetras (Schooling)
Congo tetras (Schooling)
Cardinal Tetras (Schooling)
Rummynose tetras (Schooling)
Emperor tetras (Schooling)
Black neon tetras (not regular neon tetras as these are natural food for angels)
SA dwarf cichlids
Gouramis (sunsets or dwarf gouramis have great color)
Cherry barbs
Pencilfish
Platies
Swordtails
Hatchet fish

There is a really long list. It depends on what tank you have and what you want from the tank mates.
What size is you tank?
How many angels do you have?
What do you want from tankmates? Interesting behavior, color, activity?

:iagree: with the exception of:

Cardinal Tetras
Rummynose tetras

These will be snacks for the Angels when they get medium to large size.

I have kept rummynose with my large angels with no problems. As long as the the tetras are large when added and the angels no fed live foods, I don't foresee a problem.

I've had ALL my Rummynose and ALL my Cardinals become snacks for my Angels no matter what size they where! Maybe mine thought they were part Piranha. :D

Well I did put my tetras in a few weeks before my angels and the were big tetras. By the time the angels came, the tetras were settled and knew the tank already.

i have in my 75 Gallon
12 angels, 2 red severums, 8 discus, 2 jupari,1 red tail shark, 5 black shirts, 2 albino paradise, 6 swordtails, 1clown pleco 1 high fin

Razcal3-I think you should do a little revision of your stocking levels and check out some of the stickies in the discus angelfish section.
