My mother has a 55gallon she set up at work and she has a large pair of angels in there that keep laying eggs but they keep eating them! Is this normal?

Not unusual at all. Many moons ago I raised angles and when they laid, I removed the slate to another tank. That was the only way I got fry.

some angels never get 2 be "good" parents. it happens with discus too and its not unusual for them to eat their first few batches. a lot of the eating also happens when there cleaning the dead eggs off. these sorts of things happen all the time and the above statement is one of the best way to raise angel fry. good luck

Some cichlids never really get the whole 'parenting' situation. others, however ace it. but the majority screw up thier 1st or 2nd spawn.
