what should I do, some of my angels look as if they have fin and tail rot?
i did a 50% water change tonight with double dose of prime. what else can I do. I also stired up the pool filter sand up. my fx5 is also kind of making a weird noise, it sound like it's a care with the starter/ignition going out.

what I would really like to do is go back to gravel and do a nice big planted tank with some nice driftwood. I think my tank would look good as a schooling fish planted tank. my tank is a good size too 84x16x24.

I'm running :nilly:ocd,aspergers syndrome,and 2 other M.I.D.:screwy: don't help.

I think the filter media needs to be rinsed off in new aged dechlorinated water. when I started to siphon the water out and stir up the pool filter sand the fish seemed to be alot happier and brightened up a little bit. oh and the ph was 7.5 before the water change and dumb me skiped a water change or two so it's been 2-3 weeks since a water change. finely did one. shouldn't I be doing one every week, or every other day?

Maybe you got sand in the filter's pump? As far as fin rot goes, with good water conditions, it should never be a problem. Better water conditions start with regular water changes.

um sand in the filter, is that possible with a fx5 Daniel? also I feed the angels blood worms and the angels are different sizes smallest being .75 inches with tail to the biggest being 2.5 to 3.0 with tail, the big ones where pushing the small ones away and wouldn't let them get blood worms, only the flake food. so I think It is more of who is the leaders and who is the cull, and "I'm the biggest and this is my resting spot and food"

also don't know if you can help me with a lighting questions is 128 watts of light to much for angels, or discus in a 140?g(84x16x24)

Thanks Daniel, joey.

No, it shouldn't be. If the fish swim out in the open with the lights on, and showing no stress, it should be fine. I would only be concerned if the fish hid all the time with the lights on, only to come out and swim around with the lights off.

thanks, they come out and swim in the open. I think it was just because I missed do a water change. I also added driftwood, I need to more piece to take up the other size. then going to save up for 3-6 maybe 8 more wild caught tefe green discus.
