It's been over three months since i put six angels in a 400L tank. at first they seemed to be fine with each other, they always swim in groups, no one gets left behind etc. now these days i have noticed that they have become really vicious and keep on snapping at each other and chasing each other up and down the tank. i have also noticed that in this group, my two half blacks are the most docile, whilst the two pearlscale zebras, pearlscale gold and pearlscale koi are the ones who fight with everyone else. what can i do to stop this happening? add more angelfish? i'm going to get more fish on thursday! :headbang2

still waiting for people to answer!!!.....before thursday please...then i can know how many angels to get.

Sounds like they are just establishing a pecking order. They may be pairing off.

oh ok. so shouldn't add any more angels then?

hi babe, no i wouldnt add any more,,,the two half blacks sound poss to have paired off!!
whats you plan because if you want fry i would be inclined to return the others and stick with the pair....
Its normal for cichlids to lip lock as a test of stength and dominance but if this happens sometimes the winner may acutually make the others life hell

i'm not that crazy about having fry! if they do have fry, then i would not move the young to another tank, but i would let the parents look after them (even if they eat them). The others are fine, its just the koi who has "mental" issues. she thinks she is the boss! but then so do the pearlscale zebras as well....hmmm...i have a 10 gal that is free at the moment to put fish in, if the two half blacks do pair up then i will def move them into the tank.

COOL just let them get on with it, is tank planted up nicely?
you have a spare tank if they kick off where you can seperate them,,,has the gupp dropped yet?

no, guppy is still bloody preggers, i've stopped watching her. put her in a breeder thing by herself, she seems pretty happy! been feeding her a bit extra too. been feeding the angelfish more meat everyday and now their colours are getting a bit more "silvery" don't know if it's the extra bloodworms but they seem happier!
