have three angels now all about and inch long(not tall) and ive had them for two almost three days now and they wont eat. i'm not too worried because they are relatively new, but i have to do something soon. could it be that they are small and cant see the food at the top of the water? i have a 30 gallon 16inch tall. is this too tall for their size? there was also a lot of surface commotion because i have a 55 gal filter and a 40g aerator, so i shut the aerator off but they are still not eating. any suggestions?

what else is in the tank? is it in a location with lots of passers by?

actually i just tried crunching up flakes this morning and they went for them! i have three angels only so far with nothing else. theyre getting along really well.

Use sinking foods. Vacuum leftover foods afterwards. 16 inches is fine. The taller the better as they grow.

thanks for all your suggestions. i'm so excited that i got them to eat finally. i plan on buying some brine shrimp to see if they go for em later today. wish me luck:)

they were probably just a little stressed out, fish tend to not eat right away after you put them in their new home.

Shake things up and go get some frozen food. Daily basis I feed Omega One Color Pellets and Omega one Veggie Rounds and shrimp pellets (there's more then just angels in the tank thought). Every few days I will mix up brine/mysis shimp/glassworms (whatever I have around), with beefheart and bloodworms.

They love it

The longest I've ever seen an Angel (one of mine) go without eating was 7 days. Mind you he was sick, but regained his appetite towards the end of his woes.

I breed them and usually find they don't eat for the first few days when they are put into a new home. It's quite normal for most fish
