I've got a pretty straight forward question (but nobody i've asked so far has given me a good answer). I've kept oscars for a number of years and have been fairly successful in keeping them happy and healthy. I was recently given a 46 gallon bowfront aquarium (yes given) and would really like to set it up for angelfish. I have never tried to keep angel fish before, so i tried to look up what would be a good tank setup for them on the internet. Well, as i'm sure some of you know i got back so many different answers it left me with more questions than anything. I was told by a guy at the local pet store "They're both cichlids, if it worked for the oscars it'll work for the angels too." I have again found people who back that up and people who disagree with it almost completely. This seems like a place where people who have kept angelfish hang out So what do you guys think about it?? thanks for the help :headbang2

Angelfish pretty much take care of themselves. At least in my experiance. My 2 were my first fish. They have been dropped on the ground a few times, been to the brink of death, harrassed by extreme fin nipping convicts and even gone without a water change for 4-5 months. Yet, they have NEVER been sick or had any illness. Not even ich.
I've never medicated thier tank other then salt doses.

A tank with good driftwood placement and live plants will make them feel at home. The taller the tank the better.
