Angle Iron/L-Bar

Why do I not see fellas using angle iron/L-Bar in these DIY tanks?
Is it a cost thing, or is a 2x4 less apt to bend?
Wood is easier to work with in one's basement, certainly.

Wood expands and contracts steel does not plus wood is much easier to work with for most people... There was a nice plywood/steel hybrid over on RC but most people choose wood for the ease of working with it plus much cheaper steel prices have gone way up in the last few years

I would think that expansion & contraction would be a bad thing, particularly when glass does not.
The cost I can certainly understand.
