One of my two pairs of anglefish are cleaning a leaf on one of my plants, and then the female drags her body across the spot they cleaned, but no eggs. Is this pair getting ready to lay eggs?

Hey just a quick update, my pair ate their eggs I saved a few of them but sadly they didn't make it either maybe next month I will get some babies from this pair
Newbie parents do that sometimes. For next time, be sure that they feel safe. For example: if the tank is in a well-travelled part of the house, all the commotion may spook the parents. Having enough hiding places in the tanks will help as well.
