I just recieved 2 yellow anglers yesterday from a diver in Hawaii, their about 3.5 inches long and I am asking how and what to get them to start eating. I have read some need to get started by feeding live fish but I dont really want to do that if at all possible. Some expert help would be helpful.

live shrimp would be better if anything

i would start feeding something like frozen krill of mysis and see if they will even eat frozen and if that fails fall back on live foods

You could try live feeder shrimp or maybe feeder fish. I tried live mysis shrimp with my angler when I first bought it. I numbed the shrimp, dropped it in the tank, and used an acrylic feeding rod to guide the shrimp towards the angler. The fish ate the first one, and soon learned to associate the feeding rod with food. It now eats about anything that I put in the tank with the rod.

Have any pics of your anglers?

I put in some ( 6) feeder guppies and most died, but two larger ones actually lived a week and today I dont see any of them. Maybe it ate, so I will try some more

guppies and mollies take many hours if not days to acclimate to full SW

Absolutely no feeder goldfish for these fish or any other SW fish. I had no issues with mine eating guppies & then he went after anything that moved in the current. BTW, one can very easily eat the other one, if you're keeping them in the same tank.

They really need to get on dead foods, as soon as they are eating live well.
