Bought it for $20 its about 2-3" in a big betta condo that's in my 50 gal just so can acclimate and become established. I just need an id and how big it'll get. And also I have dendros and a big rhizo will that be a problem? Sorry in advanced for the crappy pics.

Anglers are hard to ID it's almost definatly of the Family Antennarius (aka frogfish) though its Genus is harder to pick out... If I HAD to guess I would say its of Genus Commerson... They can get up to 14" (that said even if its not its the biggest of the Family so worst case it wont get that big). Common name is Commerson's frogfish. I wouldn't worry about corals unless they are stinging, as you will have noticed Frogfish "perch" on rocks and sand so stinging corals are a hazard. But its interesting to see you own a Rhizotrochus since they are illegal to import, and therefore hard to find.

I would say scarlet frogfish, Antennarius coccineus, based on the little white "lure". There was another member here who recently posted a picture of his frogfish. How much was it?

After doing a bit more reading im leaning towards Antennarius avalonis, due to the large dark spot at the rear of the dorsal fin. Or it could be a Antennarius nummifer, there are other Genuses that have that spot but the wrong colour morphs or additional features not shown on this particular fish like additonal spots or stripes. I Don't agree with the it being a Antennarius coccineus as it appears to be laking in tail striping though it does have other characteristics consistant with the genus.

Check this site out http://www.frogfish.ch/species-arten/Antennarius-avalonis.html
It has pictures and descriptions of all or most frogfish Genera.

That is a good frogfish website. Scott Michael's book Reef Fishes Vol 1 is another good source. I still lean towards the scarlet frogfish, or perhaps the coin bearing frogfish. Both are very similar, but the key feature is the length of the caudal peduncle and esca.

Yea Ive been on that frogfish site eversince I had got him. I was leaning toward Antennarius nummifer, Antennarius coccineus, or even Antennarius bermudensis.

Hey I'm a leopoldi ray now yay! Lol but yea I only paid $20 for this little beauty he has purple coraline algae camo that always shows as you can see in the pics the 1st pic is without flash and the rest are with flash.

I doubt its a Antennarius bermudensis as the bermudensis is only in shades of brown through red no bright yellow.
