I hear that a painted anglerfish, ANTENNARIUS PICTUS is also known as a "brackish angler". I can't seem to fins any supporting evidence that shows this fish to be adaptibel to brackish conditions but if it is, I want it! Anyone ever heard of this (or any related) species being kept in brackish conditions?

Unfortunately not. I know there are many toadfish/stonefish that are brackish or capable of living in brackish water.

Sorry, I am confused. Are you saying that there are or aren't any brackish anglers?

Exactly

Yes, I am aware of the so called "freshwater" stonefish being kept in light brackish water. What I was asking about is one of these guys:

Can they be acclimated to brackish?

You cannot acclimate a marine fish to BW & expect longevity. Lowered immune system, diseases & early death.

Sorry, I had meant I had never heard of one.

But Pufferpunk is right. There are anglers from what I've read that frequent BW habitats but I do not think it is best to keep them there indefinately.
