the following animals and products(including meat), should not be bought or kept due to serious enviormental concerns (such as being rare, endangered or damaging).

Bluefin tuna
Yellowfin tuna
Swordfish
Blue marlin
Black marlin
Striped marlin
Goliath grouper
Queensland grouper
Orange roughy
California almonds
Mahogany (banned but still illegally available)
Golden grunter
Chilean sea bass /tooth fish
Red snapper
Lake trout
Arizona grown corn
Gnomefish
Sharkmeat
Wild alligator
Black bear (all)

And what about whitebait?


Fry returning from the ocean, caught by the millions. Endangered inanga, kokopu, koaro and other galaxiids.
Exactly the kind of harvest that shouldn't happen.

Another one not to buy is sea turtle eggs in Mexico (or elsewhere ).

While im a big proponent of conservation, i have to admit that i only eat wild caught fish. Farmed fish tastes terrible and is not as nutritious.

I do abstain from those fish critically endangered like chilean sea bass and the like. Dont think youll help the bluefin until you talk the japanese out of eating them! Thats where 90% of it goes lol.

Might not help much, but I don't do bad things because other people do bad things.
