animated .Gif for avatar

I have a bunch of animated .gif files. i've tried useing like 15 diff ones and none of them are animated in my avatar. what do i have to do?

They should work. Are the files too big to use?

Check your file size, as well as, the pixel size of your image. Sounds like one or both of these parameters is over the allowable setting.

Thats totally what it was (the size)
is there any program anyone knows of to edit .gif files and still have them animated?
i want to bring the pixel size down a bit.
