I was wondering if anyone here cuts the sponge that comes with the ac110 in half or signifcantly smaller so they can pack more media in it. Whether it be purigen or more bio media. Would this make the ac110 not very goood as a mechanical filter? Does anyone do this?
I have 2 ac110 my planis to cut the sponges in half and fill one with 1.5 liters of bio. And in the second ac i want to cut the sponge in half and fill it with 1 litre of purigen and one bag of biomax. Or should i get fill both with bio? Or will the purigen make a significant difference in water clairity . I also want to add the purigen to see if it can help with the stench of the water as well....
