HI guys, I have been reading the forums... and opinions on this subject seem to be quite different. Some say yes, some say its a complete no-no due to Angels being more aggresive eaters, being more aggresive when they breed etc, etc.

What I want to know is for a 150 cm x 60 cm x 70 cm tank... would it work to have angels and discus in the same tank and how many of each species should I stock?

It is all personal preference! If it was my tank it would be one or the other thats just me. With a tank that size you could easily keep 6 of each adult angles and discus with no problems.

I don't mix as of the last ten years, but when I did do it, it helped to have more discus than angles. You may regret it if the discus spawn. When I had them together the discus ate the eggs the same day. When I removed the angles my discus fanned the eggs until they had wigglers. So my experience it helped the discus to be better parents. Either way I never had success until the mated pair were moved to a sterile breeding tank.
