do armatus regullarly make it past a foot in size in home aquaria with proper care? im asking because of the payara mysteriously dieing at 10-12" myth, or is that only do to the smaller species?

that myth has nothing to do with armatus. (at all)

Armatus should hit the 1 foot mark within a year according to most owners that have had them that long.

I know mine, R1's, Shoefreak's, and "Raider" are all over 12" now. I have never owned other payara so I can't make comparisons but armatus once past 4-5" are as hardy a fish as any that I currently own.

Its the Scombs that die of around that size. That may be there Full grown size. All the fishing pics of really large ones you see on the Net all appear to be Armatus.

I of cause could be wrong.

Do Armatus realy get 4-5' long in home tanks??? Being they have a tank big enough. What is the max adult size?

look at fishin pics and check the vid i posted in the photo gallery. if u have a monster tank im sure they can easily hit 3'
