I'm once again a daddy. Dave has TONS of little younglings hanging off her tail. some of those more brave ones are already off and just hanging around. This explains why she never came out.

I don't know how this is possible, becuase her last mate died and the only other males around are Infertal hybrids.

Just strengthens my favorite quote from Jurassic Park, "Nature will find a way."

The coloration of theses should be interesting, the hybrids plus the blue alleni/clarkii should be nice.

To small for a good pic, will get some when they grow older and leave the house.

:grinno:

Well that depends on how hard it is.
I'll have to talk to Black_Sun. Maybe she can teach me "lobster sales 101"
Also depends on how pretty they are.

lol yea, yea. Hey my ugly little hybrids sold pretty well just because they were hybrids and people wanted something different. You'd probably get some nice sales from them (and they're easy to ship and what not). ^_^

Oh, and maybe the mother had a stored sperm plug from her last mate? That or maybe she cloned herself. There's a few recent studies about Marmorkrebs no longer being the only species to do that (though they still are the only ones that use it regularly and as their only means of reproduction).

I guess we will find out if they turn out all blue.
(assuming a clone would share the same color as the mother)

Well she lives in a fake pot, she hasent came out in months so i was worried, but now i know she's just havin' babys. Oh and theres a male cray that stands guard at the "back door" of the pot. could it be the father?

Possibly only the female hybrids were infertal.

Could be. Different hybrids have different issues/quirks/etc. Think about Blood Parrots, the females can breed but the males can't. Maybe with this particular pairing it resulted in infertile females and fertile males. *shrugs* Who knows, heh.

I would think so. Unless the coloration was environment induced, then the offspring may or may not. We'll see. Should be interesting no matter what happens! ^_^

Hey sun, is there a specie that is cross between a clarkii and an alleni? (a hybrid.. but more or less a specific species)
Because I can't really tell what dave is. i know she is Procambarus, just unsure what species.

I think alleni but im unsure.

I'm not sure. Try taking a few pictures and posting them over at bluecrayfish.com, there's a forum member (appy) there who is excellent with species IDs and has pretty much encyclopedic knowledge on cray species. He'd be able to tell you just about anything and the potential possibilities of what you have. ^_^
