So I have a 180 gallon that I will be setting up in the next few months.I am going to use cannister for filters, and thought I had decided on 1 Eheim 2262,and 1 Eheim Pro3 2080. I think adding the 2080 would be total overkill, but I want to use inline heaters, and a turbo twist UV,so I thought having the extra filter would help with this.I also plan on keeping large SA/CA cichids,so the extra filter won't hurt.

Now I have had a few people tell me that Marineland C filters are great filters. So I am considering using 3 Marineland C 530's.

Anybody use Marineland C series?What do you think of them?Woiuld 3 530's be ok for a 180?

I use the marineland emperor 400's HOB's on my smaller tanks. I think they do a great job. No experience with the canisters though.

i was tempted to buy a marineland c, but ended up narrowing it down to ehiem or fluval. i went with fluval. i think that marineland makes a good filter, but i think you're talking about going from a mercedes to a chevy, when you mention eheim in the same breath with marineland. i'm not trying to offend chevy or marineland c owners. it's just my opinion.

I use 1 eheim 2080 on a 150 gal with 10 jack dempsey ranging from 10" to 6" and 1 common pleco 12". Never had a problem.
Good to know,thanks

Thanks. The chevy to mercedes is probably a good comparison.
