you need some better pics... it does look a bit maingano but very light thouogh mabye hes stressed or hybrid... get some more pics...

i agree, since i had a maingano that looked this pale until i got the water parameters right. now, he is very bright blue and the contrasts in color has increased greatly

A good thing to do is mention when there's an ID involved the location of the purchase. If it was a LFS in the "assorted cichlid" tank I'm telling you right now it is a hybrid

it was a gift mom said it was not from assorted group it was a pure breed? haha

also to add it changes colors when i feed it ...get dark blue almost black lines down its body
