Here goes, got 3 orinos from tuic roughly 2 months ago all was doing well until i had to go out of town this past month, my wife changed water and son fed them. Well one grew an inch larger than the rest from uneven feeding and is now bullying the two others. Heres what I tried:
1 Rearrange the tank... nope
2 egg crate divider... larger one scratched up his head trying to bust through what an ***hole, but the others fattened up
3 took out divider and added a bunch of feeders as dithers... nope they were larger comets and they are so lazy they still eat pellets instead :screwy: but no complaints.
This is were iam at tonight :nilly:i dont feel its too bad because during feedings for the most part they all come out and eat but once the lager guy is full he pushes the others to their spot. My concern is that we will be gone for holidays 13 days on auto feeder in a couple weeks and want to get it under control by then, Suggestions anyone thanks....

Add a divider they can't see through while you are gone.

dont feed to often cause you wont be able to do a wc for 2 weeks. No fishy friends in the area? HOw big are they are what size tank are they in? YOur always gonna have one that grows faster etc....

Gangster, so don't feed so much? I was thinking of fatting them up before I leave to ensure they are fat and healthy. Iam new to area, they are two 5" and one 6" inch and in a 220G. I put the divider up and put all the plants in the divider to try and block view working so far. I also broke down and set up my 55G last night waiting for cycle so I can work with it plus I needed a hospital tank anyway just in case.

You could put your big boy in your 55 while you guys are gone. I would take him and put him in there for a little while and let your other guys grow bigger. His growth will not be quite as fast as the ones in the 220.

Yeah that's the plan to put him in the 55 so he can rule in there just gotta wait for the ac110 to get seeded.

So its been about a month, one of the smaller O's is just about the same size as the larger one and has been trying to hold his own but no the big guy just aint haveing it. I put him back in the 220g cause the wife is bothering about the 55 i was suppose to get rid of it lol but anyway, I been trying to solve the agreesion issue even went bare tank lasted a day as the other tries (pots for each of them lol, rearanged wood 1000 times) WELL :irked: I am gonna start another thread see if anyone wants to trade a about 7" orino for large flagtail or royal pleco kinda sucks but at least the other two are buddies...

Is it true that once dominance is established between the cichla group all will be fine for the most part? I mean how long do you wait to give the group to do this? time frame wise if one is asserting his dominance or does this not make sense?
