another convict problem

so far my cons had 3 spawns, the first was successful but they following 2 weren't... the parents ate the fry the moment they were free swimmers. is there anything i can do about this or are my cons just stupid?

generally convicts are normally good parents only time they normally eat the fry is to make way for next batch if you have another tank next time they have laid jus remove the cave/slate or whatever they laid on into another tank

Normally, new paired individuals will eat their own spawn........Maybe the first spawn, and even maybe the second..........But, normally COnvicts are awsome species to introduce the world of cichlid breeding behaviuor......Of course, there are bigger, more exotic cichlids out there with extreme ways of rearing, but normally the owner takes the fry out right after hatching........Then places the young to growout in sperate tanks...........

yea i tried putting them into a breeding trap but the wholes where too big and they just got out. im just curious cuz i always read how good parents cons are
