I put a wanted ad on craigslist the other day for 100 gallon aquarium. This guy calls and says he has one for $150. I figure its gonna be some piece of junk , but what the hell i'll go take a look.
So I drive 40 miles out to this guys place out in the middle of nowhere. This old wierd guy comes out and greets me. He is sweating and soaked from head to toe. And he smells funky.
He's in the process of breaking down this tank. So I go in the house and theres a mountain of everything you can imagine for aquariums......everything!!!!!
And low and behold theres a 48" wide x 18" thick x 29 tall tank thats a bit grungy but I've seen worse. I figure this guy is gonna try to jack me up for more money for the accessories. But he keeps working on dismantling the tank and tells me to start loading the stuff. He just wants to get rid of all of it. IM STUNNED!!!!! I confirm that its $150 ........Right??? He says yup.
So I start loading big boxes of powerheads, hang on filters, heaters, pumps, medicines and water treatments. testing supplies, backgrounds,ug filter systems. Spare parts Extra everything.........
Im thinking WTH this stuff cant all be for this aquarium. He tells me that he has had aquariums for 20 years and he's finished with it. I can have it all........
So my truck cab is stuffed to the ceiling and i have this big aquarium and stand already loaded. Im getting ready to leave and he says " hang on theres more"
He gets in this shed and pulls out more boxes of stuff and a 55 gallon aquarium with 3 different light hood set-ups brand new in the box. and inside this 55 is 3 magnum 350's with extra everything and a fluval 404 with extra everything. Then he returns to the shed and brings out another 20 gallon tank with enough accessories for 5 20 gallon tanks.
By the time I got outta there I had $1000's of dollars worth of stuff And three tanks. Enough filtration and media to last 20 years. A truckload of stuff.
Well worth the drive I'll say..........Thanks Craigslist
