Hey guys great site, this is my first post! Unfortunately its not with great news. I picked up an acrylic 300 for a good deal with some scratches in the face. Fixed em all up an noticed A LOT of crazing on the bottom front seam. Everything Ive read gives me hope but here are a couple pics. This is the bottom from seam from the outside. Crazing is on the inside surface. I was told this coulda been from harsh cleansers? makes sense. These are bad pics but you can see what im talking about. All help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Paul

I cannot understand the tanks condition from the pix you post..could you get better ones?

have you filled the tank, yet?

no, im sorry its the best pics i can get. you are looking at the place where the front and bottom panels come together. There is crazing all along that seam on the inside. You can tell its on the inside. i am going to try to get better pics but it started rainind and its tarped outside for repairs right now. Ill try tonight after classes and 2moro if not. please check back! Thanks

Paul

You should, in any case, fill the tank out.
Only way to check whether there's damage...

Ridout Plastics (google them) sells a product called weld-on in a few diffrent variations for fixing plastic and acrylic. They helped me with a similar problem.

It looks like the seals have failed before (b/c the extra silicon), and it seems like the person before you put a strip of acrylic along the bottom side and put some solvent on it. Maybe the strip is removed now, but the solvent will cause crazing if you just let it dry on the surface of the acrylic with bonding it to another piece.
