Again to clarify : Mammals aren't really my thing. I'm still about sharks, rays and crocs. But we do what we do, and we love doing it. (It certainly isn't for the pay.)
We brought in two manatees this week: a local standed calf and a male. Normally I wouldn't start a thread about it, but this boy has a story worth sharing. He was US Coast Guard lifted in a cargo plane (C 130) from New Jersey back down to FL this week after roaming a bit further than was safe for him this time of year.

That's all 5'7" and 145 lbs of me hiding behind the 1,100 pound manatee.
Now if I could just make the news doing something fish related. I'm on a mission to sneak the phrase "Monster fish keeper" into a report yet!!! I've been trying to since '05! Everytime I think I've snuck it in, they edit that phrase out.
