Ran into a problem over the weekend and hopefully someone can help. I put together the diy overflow that is in the top of the diy filter stickies from Chompers. It is the second picture down with dimensions. Would post a quick link but not that easy over my phone. Anyways the overflow and sump work great but for some reason if I do a fake power outage test the overflow will not start back up again. Do I have a small leak or am I missing something. I love diy but i am stumped. Thank you all in advance for any help.

The tube on the back with cap on them to fill for priming. If there is no 1/8" or 3/16" hole for air and the cap is on tight it will loose it's siphon when electricity shuts off. With the hole in the cap it lets air in and keeps the water in both sides at even pressure and restarts when electricity comes back on. That is if you have a cap on it.....That's one thing you can check... :)

Exactly my point I was missing something. A cap LOL. let me give that a try when I get home. Thanks for your input I really appreciate it.

No no you misunderstood me. It will run fine without a cap. If you have a cap ON with no breather hole drilled it will stop the siphon from restarting after electricity goes out. The cap is to keep the gurggling noise to a minimum. But you need the Hole drilled in the center of it for your siphon to work correctly. It might be something else.... A pic would be kewl.. :)
