Hello everyone, i am new to this forum, but i thought i would look for some suggestions and feedback, and also let people enjoy watching the tank i am building come together (assuming peoply enjoy that, i love looking at others tanks). The tank is going to be 100 inches long, 45 deep, and 29 tall, which puts it around 550 gallons i believe. The first pictures are of the 2x4 frame i am building, of course missing the front as i have not inserted the plywood. I am currently looking for some 4x10 3/4 inch ac grade plywood, but it is proving hard to find. At this point i am going to call around some more tomorrow before i end up ordering it. I am planning on using rubber coat, from permadri. I am also looking in to what glass or acrylic i am going to get, any suggestions are welcome. Well i cant think of much else to say now but i will update regularly, here are some pictures.

With the frame you are building, the plywood possibly can be thinner because it is already supported. The only place I can see an issue is along the lower back there is not continuous support along the edge. On my 315, I only used 11/32 with pond coat and it held just fine. It leaked because of the seal, but didn't budge! As far as glass or acrylic, go with acrylic if you can afford it, pond coat does not bond to glass but I have had success get it to bond to acrylics. If you want to go with glass, my early test results seem to indicate that you will need to put some fiberglass resin between the glass and pond coat to get the glass to seal. Liquid rubber/pond coat and silicone both seem to adhere well to fiberglass resign.

The edges of the tank are all going to be sitting on a 2x4. I built the outside of the bottom frame using 2 2x4s glued and screwed together, and 1 of them is where the supports come up, and the other is where the plywood will sit.

I think he means a continuous support along the BACK edge of the bottom, not the actual bottom. You'll need to fill in between the vertical 2x4's with more 2x4, so there's even support for the back piece of plywood to rest against and be screwed to. Same with the sides.

definitely going to do that. called about 10 places and only truitt and white had the 4x10 plywood in 3/4 ac, they also have it in 1/2 inch but to be safe i am going to go with 3/4. Runs about 75 a sheet and i need 4. Its my brothers birthday so i am going to wait until tomorrow to go get the plywood.
