Ive been following the drip threads and have had my drip system running successfully for the past few weeks .
Been speaking with the owner of my local LFS as they just had brand new DAS system install with auto drip system.

needing a second opinion as fish seem happy cories are laying eggs , are see to be flourishing.
Look over these test results , from the LFS owner by way of DAS rep my AMM is negible from chloramine and should be absorbed by bio media which seems to proved out as my Seachem Free AMM alert is light yellow.

Those with a drip system with Chloramine city water how much AMM is being dripped into your tanks.
Are you getting similar results? Why am I getting results for Total AMM but getting no result for Free Amm test ?

City water report 2017
Avg chlorine / chloramine 2.21PPM
Avg Nitrate 3.41 ppm
avg Lead 3 PPB
Avg PH 9.9
Total Hardness CaCo2 114
Ammonia as N .12 ppm

My tests , City Tap :
tap chlorine 3ppm
tap total amm .2 to .3
Tap free amm didnt register
GH 180
KH 40

Drip results , after running through, sediment filter , 2 stage carbon blocks and cation resin :
30 ppm GH
ph 8
kh 20
nitrates 5-7.5
Total Amm .05
Free Amm didnt register
drip chlorine .25 ppm- shouldn't this be zero ?

Nitrates and Ammonia using Seachem multi test

Tank
PH 6.5

AMM zero - Seachem alert
Nitrates 2

( note tank is planted (anubias Buce, and pothos ) , no substrate , heavy driftwood piles , pleco tank)

You probably saw my threads related to ammonia and drip systems. I am having the opposite results from you. My ammonia alert is claiming low traces of ammonia present in my tank. When I used the API test the color is a yellowish which means 0. I am a little torn about Seachem ammonia alert because it has worked in the past but not sure what is going on now. I might try resetting it in some RO/DI water and then placing it back in my tank.

I moved away from API , because I use Prime ... in trying to understand my test results I ran across this article ..

Like you Im confused by my results . I'm going to take water samples over to be tested by another test kit.

What test kit are you using? I was thinking of getting Salifert as that is what I use for nitrate. I do not use Prime/Safe as I am running an auto-drip and am running the water through sediment and carbon filters.

I use this seachem test kit as its supposed to test free and Total AMM

I still drip prime into sump , wasn't comfortable going cold turkey as my water department has a way of ratcheting up chemicals and you generally dont find out till after your fish start dying ?.. Post your results with Salifert.
