Another Drop Eye Thread... Pfftt....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
heard of it in a pond before. it was in some threads a while back. there have been so many and most have been altered by mods for verious reasons so i couldn't begin to say which one it was in or when it was suppost to have happened.

i think it was by a user called badreverened.. check the spelling though.. i think its too early to say anythin but post moving to the pond my aros varying DE dont seem to be there.. they werent real bad btw.. lil droop but now they seem to constantly look up..

Cool.. give it a shot ryan..

Ya, I'll have to do that and report back on the results; I want to see if these positive results for treating DE can be replicated. There are two ~18" ones with DE at a nearby LFS that I would like to try it on, but I'd like to see if I can prevent DE from happening on one that I grow out myself before even trying to fix it on other ones that already have it.

earth pond is the best cure for PLJ, DE, curling gills.

Sweet, I have three of those, too, and the capacity to dig more; maybe I'll have to do a somewhat organized study or something to see what results I get.

Keep it in a pond,BUT Genetics plays a big role in drop eye cases

hey ryan.. is there any concrete proof for genetics playing a big role in DE? I don't have any proof as such that my aros are better now but from what i've seen them in the tank to now, its def much better.. Reasons to DE are a lot of assumptions as much as the cure to it..ping pong balls.. etc and yes include if they were moved to a pond too.. my reply is not meant to diss you mate but, with DE the reasons and cure are all assumptions.. including me believing that it is caused by head trauma while jumping and banging into lids or the floor.. cheers
