Today i was planning on getting a bristlenose pleco from the petco nearby. I called on friday to make sure they had them and then again today to make sure they still had them. i drove all the way to the store (actually a pretty fair distance from where i live) and the bristlenoses that i asked about all had ich so badly that they weren't for sale. Once again, i called ahead and specifically asked about these fish and the only person working in the fish department didn't warn me about the ich at all. (and had no idea what a plecostomus was at all)

Send a letter to corporate. I called once to check if they had black background...girl said yep, sure do. Drove 35 minutes there to get it, and they were out of stock...she knew that they carried it but didn't check if it was in stock. Corporate is pretty apologetic and sends coupons.
i went to a petsmart near my area to buy some parrot fish and i asked for advice on silver aros the guy said that silver aros cant and have never been kept with other fish
The petco by me is actually pretty good most of the time, and if you speak with the fish purchasing manager, they will order anything for you that is currently available from their supplier.
