HOW DOES A PERSON KNOW WHICH ONE OF YOUR FISH WILL GIVE YOU THE BEST COLOR WHEN THEY ARE JUVES the darker ones or the lighter colored ones?

Not predictable...it all depends on the fish. No one truly knows. If you talk about fading, the darker is more preferred. But it doesn't mean it is better coloring than the lighter ones.

I realy think this not an answerable question with out know what kind of fish you talking about. It varies from fish to fish. The gold fish that spawn in my pond will start out brown and change colors as they get bigger. Some will change colors 3 or more times. I have a large female that was orange and white then turned totaly white and now she is orange white and black. I got her from my lfs store in 1997. This is when I did my first pond. I think that we will need more info on the exact fish you are talking about or wanting to get. Most fish will devlope thier colors as they grow. And some females will have less coloring than males. And some like molies will color out realy fast.

Bill, the only way that you will ever be able to determine the quality of your RT's is to grow some of them out. Several months back I offered to buy some from Irene, after reading about what happened at the auction she should have taken me up on that offer.

in group fry sale i almost always pick the most dominate one.

Wow lots to answer here I should have said thet were rt's my mistake Neil I think I talked her out of that if you would still like some we have quite a bunch now some in the 2 and half inch or bigger size and a ton under the inch just let us know and I am asuming the more dominant ones will be the larger ones. I hope I covered everything and we have dark and light colored larger fry at this size I am hoping they will start to show their color.
