hey guys, right now my fish are all on dinachi pelllets and im starting to run out and i was thinking instead of spending 40$ on pellets that maybe i can feed small salad shrimp to my fish? there 3$ for a big bag.

maybe feeding shrimp evreyday, and once or twice a week feed the diniachi pellets? what do you experts think? and how many shrimp should i feed the fish? 2 a day? or more? per fish

fish are.......

1 - 9''red devil
1- 14''oscar
and the others are all pretty small
jd,con,jellybean,plecos catfish, all under 6 ''

If the dinachi pellets are too costly try a different brand. Hikari is pretty good and one of the cheaper brands. Kensfish makes some good products that are inexpensive. You can buy 5lb. buckets of New Life Spectrum from someone on this board for around $60 shipped. That is a really good price for a good product. I would not get away from a good pellet as the main staple of your fishes diet. Good pellets will have a good balance of protein, fiber, and fat. I look for pellets with more natural ingredients. By this I mean whole fish versus fish meal, whole krill versus krill meal, dried kelp and algae versus algae meal. If you are looking for the best I think it is Omega One. Check it out for yourself. Look at the ingredients. Overall feed a varied diet and you have less chance of going wrong.

I would definitely suggest you make the bulk of your feedings pellets. The nutritional profile of the better pellets is simply better than that of shrimp.

Like thatone suggested above, I order NLS in bulk.

Gotta buy in bulk to make the food affordable.Getting ready to spend 140 bucks myself on Hikari cichlid gold:eek:
