Another Fish ID Thread

I picked him up at a LFS. They had no clue what he was so I offered them 5 bucks for him.

I've searched photo gallery after gallery of American Cichlids and no luck.

He's aggressive towards the glass but not so much the neon tetra in there with him. He's about an inch and a half, shaped like a Peacock to a degree, but in the CA/SA section of the store. I can't imagine they wouldn't have been able to identify a Peacock. Also note the yellow dot on his lower back fin. He's pretty for a baby.

Thats an African Cichlid, some type of Hap. You will have better luck in the African section.

Looks like one of the Lake Victorians, but I couldn't tell you which one.

May be of the genus Pundamilia, agree with the above, Lake Victorian.
